I was born to write.
The first book I ever read on my own was Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone. I was 6 years old. I fell in love with the characters, the places and the world. As I grew older, my love of books drove me. I was also a very imaginative child, often playing Robin Hood or (funnily enough) Harry Potter with my childhood friends. I would sit on my school bus and imagine people outside, what there story was.
In my teenage years, reading was my escape, and that passion slowly turned to writing, I could see the characters in my head, imagine full blown conversations with them. Who they were, what they wanted.
I have wanted to be a writer for as long as I can remember, I also remember people always telling me to ‘have a backup’ plan, because being a writer is not easy. It isn’t easy. There is nothing worse than staring at a blank page, desperate for inspiration to hit. However, there is nothing better when it does, the thrill of creating a world from nothing, creating life with nothing but a pen or more recently thanks to technology, a keyboard. The excitement when the light bulb moment after a writers block.
I was born a writer, but more importantly, I have a story to tell.
